Tecnoacciai is one of the biggest players on the Italian market in the field of steel manufacturing. It is the most customer-centric steel company nationwide as it is the only one that provides its customers with an outsourced cutting centre of the highest quality and a warehouse of over 10,000 square metres from which metalworking companies can source all the raw materials they need.

It is precisely in the logistics warehouse that Tecnoacciai's highly trained personnel are daily engaged in the risky tasks of preparing and handling huge and therefore very heavy steel beams, pipes and sheets.

After thoroughly evaluating the characteristics of this challenging workplace, in order to guarantee Tecnoacciai's operators the possibility of working in total safety without sacrificing comfort, we selected the ARDITA model for them, which is able to avert the risk of injury thanks to its exceptional safety equipment but also to facilitate movement and support the wearer's natural foot posture.

ARDITA: Intrepid and bold

In the metal industry, accidental falls of extremely heavy materials are highly frequent occurrences. For this reason, PANDA SAFETY's R&D department has designed and implemented an additional metatarsal protector in the ARDITA model, which, made of ultra-high-strength composite material and covered in water-repellent natural leather, provides protection for the bones of the upper part of the foot.

The protective elements of the ARDITA model are completed by the safety toe cap and the anti-puncture plate, also made of composite materials, and by the so-called 'malleolus guard', an additional element designed to protect the wearer's malleolus in the event of side impacts.

ARDITA not only provides protection in case of compression and/or crushing of the foot, but also insulation from contact heat thanks to the innovative VIBRAM TC4+ outsole including HRO functionality. The midsole, which is made of low-density polyurethane foam, guarantees elasticity and flexibility and thus comfort, while the nitrile rubber tread, in addition to ensuring the best anti-slip functionality, offers total thermal insulation when used on hot surfaces (up to 300 °C - up to one minute).

The inner lining, which includes a technical fabric insert in the heel region to prevent deterioration of this highly strained part of the shoe, is made of SILON®: a highly breathable and abrasion-resistant microfibre that also has an antimicrobial and antibacterial treatment to prevent the proliferation of microorganisms responsible for the onset of bad smell.
